This opportunity will be based at Air Canada's Montreal Headquarters in Dorval.

This is an entry position within the Revenue Management (RM) branch's Science and Innovation team whose goals are to manage and calibrate the Origin-Destination forecasting and optimization system (PROS RMA), to provide key data-driven guidance for major commercial strategy changes, and to contribute to innovation projects.

  • Design insightful models, tools, and automated processes to support revenue management commercial strategies.
  • Create, develop, and deliver training on the scientific models governing various modules within the RM system, adapting the level of complexity to the audience.
  • Be a key player in the assessment, selection, testing, and implementation of new tools and system changes to support of Air Canada's business model.
  • Manipulate large data sets, analyze them to draw relevant conclusions, and communicate the information efficiently to support the commercial decision-making process.
  • Perform deep dive analysis into market trends, network issues, and RM systems behavior combining analytical reasoning and commercial knowledge to highlight opportunities and their implications.
  • Share results with a diverse audience and provide appropriate recommendations to commercial teams.
  • Lead the implementation of the recommendations affecting large parts of the network and monitor rolled out actions.
  • Oversee and monitor the quality of the inputs and outputs of our forecasting, optimization, and availability systems.
  • Participate in innovation projects, involving cooperation with partners from different departments, academic partners, and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the abilities to work autonomously, synthesize complex situations, and communicate at multiple levels of expertise.
  • Self-starter and ability to work under pressure, changing priorities and tight deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, data modeling, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets and transform them into clear business insights.
  • Programming experience in at least one of the following languages: Python, C/C++, SQL, R.

Additional assets

  • Experience with origin-destination revenue management tools.
  • Experience in revenue management, forecasting, optimization, or demand elasticity modeling.
