Job Description How You'll Perform The Role • Responsible for the implementation and creation of the follow-up of the prevention plan, policies and procedures, while ensuring compliance with the regulations and standards in force within the corporation as well as all laws governing health and safety at work • Good labor relations management • Provide day-to-day support to managers and employees for all questions relating to health and safety at work • Actively participate in accident investigations, safety registrations and audits within the plant, the development and follow-up of corrective measures, the implementation of an emergency plan • See to the complete and effective training of employees on the various issues related to health, safety and the environment. • Ensures the maintenance and entry of all information into the computer system • Inspect facilities and machinery • Consult health and safety guides and standards • Carry out tests on the inventory of fixtures • Write reports on findings and CSST • Chair the OHS committee • All other related tasks What We Need From You • At least 2 years in a Health and Safety position, preferably in the field of plant manufacturing  or  have a Certificate Health and Safety • Bilingual in French  and  English • Anility to coach and train a team on health and safety policies and procedures • Positive and dynamic attitude focused on communications and courtesy • Excellent communication skills and writing skills • Knowledge of Microsoft Office • Experience in CNESST file management Requirements Key criteria: Fluent in French and English Should have experience/knowledge of CNESST  (Quebec equivalent of WSIB) claims management process. Should have experience in Health & Safety in Canada.  We will not take international candidates who have no working experience in Health & Safety in Canada. Manufacturing background would be ideal. Health & Safety certification is a plus but NOT a requirement. Requirements How You'll Perform The Role Produce molds and/or machined / fabricated parts accurately and efficiently within established timelines Handle cutting, drilling, reaming, boring, polishing, deburring and grinding of aluminum parts Handle cleaning, fitting, drilling and assembling of the tools Assist with sample making process when required Grind tools for custom requirements Know capability of various machines and related impact on parts/tools Come up with ideas for productivity improvements through engineering solutions like jigs, fixtures etc. whenever required Guide and assist co-workers whenever required Make wooden crates and pack the tools for shipment whenever required Lift and move product / parts / boxes when required Assist with cleaning up machines and their general maintenance Diligently follow lockout / tag out procedures whenever required Understand, maintain and follow the working procedures for machine shop Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S in own work area and around work units Perform all work in a safe manner and fully comply with the Safety and Quality (GMP) policies and procedures of the Company Any other duties as assigned by the Management What We Need From You Minimum High school diploma and Ontario Machinist Certification Minimum 5 years of experience in machine shop and fabrication for making thermoforming molds or similar applications Strong knowledge of different tooling machinery and its usage, including Milling Machines, Lathes, Drilling Machine, Band saw, Grinders etc. Able to verify dimensions of machined parts or tooling using different measuring instruments eg. Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height gauge etc. Able to read and interpret blue-prints or study sample parts to determine machining operations to be performed Strong knowledge of welding and brazing. Able to work accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision Should possess own basic tools Good English communications skills (verbal and written)
