Sawyer- Evening Shift

ACCOUNTABILITIES :

  • Thorough and complete organization of beam materials, the cleaning/disposal of waste and protection of materials is required on a routine basis.
  • Inventory levels of joists and beams, relevant materials and chainsaw supplies are to be tracked and critical/low levels are to be reported to Supervisors regularly.
  • Checking grade, size, and quality for lumber before cutting and markings that indicate lumber type and length.
  • Regular inspection and maintenance as required for tools and machinery.
  • Ensuring flow of lumber in and out of the saw area meets production expectation
  • Adhere to safety, quality assurance and standard operating procedures and policies.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Understanding of grading and quality of lumber
  • Experience accurately operating power/air tools, use an imperial tape measure and have basic math skills.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50lbs throughout the day.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English.
  • Steel-toed work boots and appropriate clothing to work outside are required

  • Able to work in various weather conditions all year round (hot & cold)
  • Required to work in dusty conditions
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Working a noisy atmosphere
