Your Opportunity:This is a float position which requires work both in community and in facility. If you enjoy working autonomously within a supportive office environment, this job may be for you. You will be working in conjunction with LPNs as well as oversee authorizations for HCAs. This type of nursing requires someone with a strong skillset in assessment and decision-making. You will be working with clients from birth to end of life spectrum. You will be required to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team as well as with the clients and their support networks. You must have well-developed critical thinking skills. Experience dealing with all entire age spectrum including peds and seniors. At the moment this is a straight day Monday to Friday rotation, however this may be subject to change. Note in the event you are required to work evenings, weekends or on call, these shifts are worked with limited staff (only one Case Manager is on call) and you may be called out into the community/lodge setting to address client issues at late evening/night/early morning. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.Description: As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $ - $ Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article or (ii) as applicable. Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters 1 - 4 ( and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification (Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Supportive Pathways/ course. Palliative Care course/Experience. NVCI course. It’s Your Move course. Medication Assistance Program (MAP).
