Among those solutions, the company develops and delivers integrated bridge systems for warships, integrated dived navigation systems for submarines, and C2 systems for small craft. Presently, 23 navies totaling more than 600 warships and submarines operate using OSI systems. Due to the nature of our company, all employees must pass specific security criteria. Only candidates who are Canadian citizens, have PR status or have a citizenship from a NATO country, and who satisfy security clearance criteria, will be considered. The Support Engineer will provide expert knowledge to the In-Service Support (ISS) and Support groups with planning, delivery and operation of in-service support. Leading the planning and execution of equipment modifications, understanding of repair procedures and resolution of design and/or maintenance issues, while working collaboratively with a range of other specialists, to ensure effective through life technical support to OSI Customers. The Support Engineer will be responsible for delivery of technical solutions to ISS and Support Customers, working very closely with the ISS Project Manager and ISS Supply Chain Specialist.RESPONSIBILITIES• Leads on all technical matters related to multiple projects.• Leads the analysis and resolution of problems, escalated by the Customer Support Team, and determines the optimum means to deliver the most cost-effective solution.• Leads the impact analysis of reported obsolescence issues on OSI ISS and legacy Customers.• Commissions and reviews obsolescence status reports and other ISS contractual deliverables, under the direction of the Support Manager. Works with the ISS Supply Chain Specialist to co-ordinate and significantly contribute to the development and maintenance of the ISS Supply Chain. • Works with Product Development and Engineering Division members to determine necessary changes to ISS Customers’ configurations.• Plans, commissions, and approves minor updates to drawings and technical documentation.• Evaluates performance metrics and leads on addressing issues.• Supports the development of proposals and estimates in response to client requests for proposals. • Works with the ILS, Service and Technical Publications teams to apply Configuration Management to drawings and technical documentation for large changes.• Identifies reoccurring challenges to effective through life support, related to product design or process, and raises these challenges using OSI’s Continuous Improvement process.• Provides input to annual ISS budgets and assists the ISS PM with KPI monitoring.• Provides significant input to ISS, Support and Service costings.QUALIFICATIONS • Engineering Degree• 5+ years relevant experience of technical support to in-service customers• Excellent communication and collaboration skills• Successful candidates will also need to either hold a current SC clearance or be willing and eligible to hold Security Clearance check (SC level) to be able to work within this environment.• Training and experience in Obsolescence Management would be an advantage.• Experience of military Customers’, Integrated Logic Support, Supportability Engineering and military supply chains would be an advantage.• Experience of Solid Works, PDExpert and EPICOR ERP would be an advantage.The range for this role is $95,000-115,000 CDN and the actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity.
