Senior Project Manager Job Overview: We have an immediate need for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead cross-functional project teams through high-value operational and business projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering business outcomes that are vital to the continued growth of the organization. They will deal extensively will internal stakeholders in Operations and Engineering as well as external stakeholders and contractors. This role requires outstanding organizational and analytical skills, excellent communication and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Position Responsibilities: Project Portfolio: Lead your team of project managers to plan and execute a variety of new product development and key business projects. Project Planning and Execution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines and milestones. Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining tasks, resources, and milestones. Ensure projects are executed on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards. Risk Management: Identify potential risks, issues, and obstacles that could impact project success. Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address challenges and minimize disruptions. Requirements Management: Collect, manage and verify project requirements based on input from internal and external stakeholders. Monitoring and Escalation: Identify areas of the project that deviate from plan and escalate issues to the correct audience with proposed solutions or corrective actions. Contractor Management: Oversee and coordinate activities with external contractors, vendors, and suppliers. Manage relationships, track progress, and ensure adherence to project requirements and contractual agreements. Communication and Reporting: Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, providing regular project updates and reports. Facilitate effective communication between internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment and transparency. Manage project documentation and deliverables as necessary. Budget Management: Develop and track project budget. Ensure projects are delivered within budget constraints and look for cost-saving opportunities where applicable. Other duties may be assigned as required by the business with or without notice. Position Requirements: A level of education, training and relevant experience equivalent to 5 years in Project Management, ideally in an operations or manufacturing focused environment. Experience in electronics businesses or facility relocation is highly desirable. Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing external contractors. Training in Project Management methodologies and practices is essential, preferably consistent with PMI. PMP Certification would be most suitable to the opportunity. Ability to coach and mentor project team members on key project management and operations skills. A strong understanding of Lean manufacturing processes and strategies. A high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software tools. Familiarity with quality standards such as ISO 9001, 45001 and APQP is strongly preferred. Experience in New Product Development or Introduction is an asset. Periodic domestic and international travel may be required for this role.
