Quality Technician - Viqua

We are seeking an experienced Quality Technician to work in our Guelph location. The primary role of this position is to continually improve Trojan’s customer experience by driving continuous improvement activities through the use of daily management and our defined quality processes.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Perform inspections and troubleshooting on customer returned product and provide feedback to QA Specialist on common occurrences
  • Perform containment of defective material
  • Manage/disposition defective material inventory
  • Communicate and return defective material to suppliers and implement countermeasure
  • Work with the supplier and QA Specialist to find and implement immediate and long term countermeasure
  • Responsible for maintaining Quality Alerts and deviations implementation in production
  • Determine measurement methods and required tooling/equipment for incoming and sampling inspection
  • Measure supplier and internal process quality using Focused Factory visual board
  • Report daily on quality and countermeasures, with focus on driving continuous improvement through PSP (problem solving process) for internal and external non conformances
  • Audit of finished goods
  • Investigate non-conformances generated within Manufacturing in order to determine root cause and perform containment of defective product, including sorting and rework
  • Quickly resolve quality issues in order to maintain production schedule

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in a Mechanical/Manufacturing/Electrical technology or technician program
  • ASQ-Certified Quality Technician/Engineer preferred
  • Strong metrology skills: CMM experience preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with experience in a variety of manufacturing processes
  • Understanding of ‘Lean principles’, with focus on standard work
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems
  • Ability to lead corrective actions
