SUMMARY OF TASKS Reporting to the Regional Director, Human Resources - British Columbia, the Human Resources Manager is responsible for promoting the Company culture and values across all activities related to employee and labour relations, recruitment and selection, communication, employee benefits, training and development, and health and safety for the Abbotsford and Port Coquitlam facilities. RESPONSIBILITIES - Act as a trusted partner to managers and supervisors by providing support and guidance on all human resources matters - Facilitate communication and provide recommendations and advice for employee and labour relations issues, including employee complaints and grievances - Promote engagement with management and union representatives with a focus on proactive planning and problem solving, including interpretation of our 3 collective agreements - Collaborate with peers and other business unit leaders to implement action plans across all areas of our people strategy including diversity, inclusion, training and development, health and safety, talent, and performance management - Participate in disciplinary meetings, conduct internal investigations, and write reports - Maintain in-depth and current knowledge of HR compliance and legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees with the intent of reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance - Participate in the recruitment and selection process and oversee the onboarding experience for new employees - Manage the HR Coordinator and HR Advisor positions - Manage special projects as required QUALIFICATIONS - Diploma or Degree specializing in Business, Human Resources or related field - Minimum 5 years of related experience in progressive human resources areas - Experience working in a unionized environment and ability to interpret complex collective agreements - Strong and professional writing skills to write discipline letters, reports, policy documents and employee communications - A strong customer and client service focused attitude - Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills - Demonstrated ability to form relationships with all levels of employees across the organizaiton - Knowledge and ability to influence without direct authority - A valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle and the ability to travel between Abbotsford and Port Coquitlam - Excellent abilities using MS Word and Excel - CPHR designation preferred Our story began in Canada in 1954, when the Saputo family's hard work and dedication created a thriving dairy business.
