Burnaby, BV V5A 4N5 Canada Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Oil & Petroleum Field Inspector will perform the inspection and certification of products at on-site locations; perform minor lab analytical tests, and will assist the Operations Manager with client communication of operational details, results and observations. As an Oil & Petroleum Field Inspector, your main responsibilities are: On- site inspections, sampling, and reporting as per company requirements and API/ISO/ASTM/ISGOTT procedures Assist with sample preparation, sample management, sample inventory, and sample disposable as required Remain current regarding methods, issues and updates Maintaining and performing quality controls related to inspections Perform preventive maintenance for all equipment and documentation as per company requirements Comply with all company policies, occupational safety regulations, laboratory safety procedures, and requirements of applicable Quality Systems SOPs Other duties or tasks as assigned from time to time You are the ideal Oil & Petroleum Field Inspector if you have: Previous experience in the field of marine inspection is an asset Valid BC Driver’s license with a clean driving record is provided by ICBC abstract Flexibility and ability to work in a 24/7 environment Understanding of inspection onshore or vessels Ability to coordinate own work and effectively manage time Good knowledge of MS Office/Excel/Word/Outlook Willingness to learn Previous experience sailing on Tankers an asset Good communication skills in order to communicate externally ship and terminal crews High attention to detail and the ability to perform basic math Strong interpersonal skills; able to work independently and as a part of a team Strong commitment to safety and quality procedures and systems Benefits and Wage (on successful completion of probationary period) Mobile phone allowance Medical and Dental Benefits RRSP Matching Wage - Based on Experience *Must be eligible to work in Canada and located in the Metro Vancouver Area, relocation assistant will NOT be provided Bureau Veritas is a world leader in testing, inspection and certification services.
