Position Summary:Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accountant supports the organization-wide business case preparation, acquisition due diligence, accounting and integration activities to drive business expansion. The Accountant also conducts general finance duties including reporting, inventory, accounts receiveable and payable, and banking. The Accountant role is a full-time hybrid position. We are considering candidates within both Victoria and Vancouver Island as a whole. Additionally, candidates from Greater Vancouver who are interested in relocating to Vancouver Island may be considered. Job Responsibilities: Reviews financial information for potential acquisitions and performs due diligence activities Develops business cases for potential acquisitions and new clinic locations Works with former owners to account for business purchase completion and integration accounting Works with legal advisors to conduct and account for business combinations and dissolutions Prepares business cases, obtains approval for capital expenditures and monitors spend versus budget Ensures effective internal controls to safeguard corporate assets and accuracy of financial information Work closely with functional leaders across the business to complete acquisitions and related projects Supports the Director of Finance in special projects in strategic planning and business opportunities General financial duties including reporting, inventory, accounts receivable and payable, and banking Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: CPA designation achieved or in progress preferred 4+ years experience in Accounting or Finance Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Experience with ERP systems Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel Public accounting experience preferred Demonstrated leadership skills with an ability to motivate and influence others and work in a changing environment Able to establish and maintain cooperative business relationships Proven ability and skill in managing operations including staff and budgets Strong sense of client service and team player who can foster teamwork and consensus with all levels of the organization Strong communicator with excellent proven interpersonal, presentation and writing skills Excellent financial and general analytical abilities What We Offer: Annual salary ranges from $65-85,000 per year based on experience Annual bonus opportunity Extended health benefits & RRSP matching from first day of employment 3 weeks vacation to start, increasing with tenure 6 days of personal time per year Birthday day off Monday to Friday schedule working 35 hours per week Hybrid working environment, 2 days in office and 3 days remote from home
