With more than 1,100 beds and approximately 12,000 staff members, we deliver specialized care to the Eastern Ontario region.- From the compassion of our people to the relentless pursuit of new discoveries, The Ottawa Hospital never stops seeking solutions to the most complex health-care challenges while continually engaging with the community to support our vision for better patient care.- Working together with its research institute, the University of Ottawa, and other partners, the hospital is continually gaining national and international recognition for high-quality patient care, teaching and research, while striving to meet the needs of the culturally diverse community we serve.- Position Information- Maintains up to date documentation of key business processes in Finance (e.g.: accounts receivable, accounts payable, accounting, capital assets, treasury, financial planning, and analysis which includes budgeting, forecasting, financial & statistical reporting, and case costing). -Evaluates existing business processes to assess current efficiency, efficacy and/or internal controls. -Provides expertise on Finance processes (as detailed above) during IT system upgrades and/or optimizations. -Leads ongoing reviews of existing business processes, develops optimization strategies and related business cases, considering costs, savings, issues, risks, and benefits of proposed solutions. Creates functional specifications for solutions. -Outlines business impacts of proposed solutions. -Communicates effectively, insights and business requirements to the project team leading systems upgrades and/or optimization. -Serves as liaison between system users in Finance and the project team; use expertise to make decisions around requirement prioritization and scope, and assess viability of solutions. -Ensures system solutions meet business needs and requirements and provide for strong internal controls. -Performs functional testing of new system functionality. -Documents new business processes, SOPs, how to’s related to new system functionality, following process change -Facilitates end-user change management, learning and adoption of new systems functionality by providing leadership, training, coaching and guidance to Finance staff -Prepares test scripts and use case scenarios. Implements and tests solutions. -Supports the BI Analyst, Finance to build and maintain reporting tools (such as dashboards and data visualization tools, that can be applied to operations, accounting, financial planning and analysis, and business development) to enable effective and efficient business activities and decision making. -Focuses on areas that include governance, risk management and compliance tools for financial control processes and internal audit. -Advises on data extraction and data requirements during the process of developing reporting tools. -Facilitates working sessions with user community and obtain agreed to functional/design requirements. -Delivers within agreed upon scope and functional/design requirements. - Rotation/Shifts- Days, 8 hour shifts. *For information purposes only - The Hospital reserves the right to chnage*- Basic Requirements- Commerce/Accounting with a specialization in Computer Applications, or equivalent. Intermediate to advanced experience with large ERP financial systems, i.e., Oracle. -Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated through collaborative and productive relationships with various stakeholders and partners. -Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. -Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills, ability to work under pressure with mínimal supervision, manage multiple competing priorities and meet strict deadlines. -Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills. -Sound judgement and initiative. -Ability to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions. - Preferred Qualifications- Master of Business Administration or Master of Health Administration or working towards completion. -CPA (CA/CMA/CGA), or working towards completion. -Knowledge of CIHI-MIS guidelines. -Experience in Oracle ERP implementation. - What you can expect from us- The Ottawa Hospital is committed to providing a healthy, safe, and inclusive work environment for everyone.
