Job Purpose Dana is a global leader in the supply of highly engineered driveline, sealing, and thermal-management technologies that improve the efficiency and performance of vehicles with both conventional and alternative-energy powertrains. Serving three primary markets – passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and off-highway equipment – Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.   Dana’s TM4 division, located at Boucherville, is specialized in the design and development of electric motors and inverters, meant to be used within commercial and light vehicles.     PURPOSE:   As a thermal engineer at Dana TM4 Boucherville, you will be an active member of the mechanical analysis team, supporting the mechanical, magnetic, and power electronics design teams. Your role will be focused on, but not limited to, ensuring that the products (electromechanical systems) meet the thermal requirements, while respecting the other multiple constraints on the design. You will be involved in all phases of the product development cycle and in continuous improvement activities. You will also support the engineering test and validation teams.       Job Duties and Responsibilities PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Carry out finite element thermal analysis of electric motors, inverters, and other power electronic systems. Give design recommendations, perform trade off studies and sensitivity analyses  Collaborate with the other teams to develop and optimize products with respect to performance, efficiency, cost, manufacturability, and reliability goals.  Support the design teams during the continuous improvement phases.  Liaise with external service providers and other Dana electrification tech centers  All other related tasks   EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (Master, PhD: an asset) 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing company  Excel at working in multidisciplinary teams, and with complex matrix-structured organizations   Relevant experience in steady state and transient thermal analysis  Experience using mechanical modelling software (Siemens NX)   Working knowledge of electrodynamic systems  High attention to detail  Take accountability for your work  Focused on quality  Innovative with a positive, can-do mindset and attitude   Confident communicator who can build rapport quickly and influence at all levels   Sound analytical and organizational skills with ability to prioritize effectively  Member of the OIQ, or eligible to become a member. Fluent in French and English, written and spoken. Experience with system simulation software such as MATLAB Simulink, an asset  Relevant experience in simulation of electric motors, as well as experience in the automotive industry, an asset  Relevant experience with CFD analysis and software, an asset
