Job Description : As legal counsel, your role will consist primarily in advising Colabor and its affiliates on all legal, governance and compliance matters relating to their respective activities. This newly created position will allow you to play a leading role in developing strategies and maintaining compliance within the company. In collaboration with the General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, you will be involved in:

  • drafting, reviewing and negotiating various commercial agreements;
  • playing a key role in major projects of Colabor such as merger & acquisitions, reorganizations, financing transactions;
  • planning and organizing the meetings of the Board of Directors and its committees and the Annual Meeting of Shareholders;
  • preparing and reviewing various continuous disclosure documents, including press releases, proxy circulars, annual information forms, and other securities filings;
  • developing and improving internal policies and procedures;
  • developing and providing tailored legal trainings to the teams;
  • interacting with external lawyers supporting the company;
  • monitoring recent legal developments and communicating the relevant information internally.

Required Profile

  • Law degree (common law degree an asset);
  • Member of the Quebec Bar or equivalent from any Canadian province;
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, both in French and English;
  • Highly organized and autonomous;
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines;
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize;
  • Pragmatic, leadership and a great team player.
