As a Structural Engineer at Krech Ojard & Associates, you will play a pivotal role in cultivating client relationships and delivering high-quality structural services to our industry clients. This position demands the application of independent engineering judgment and self-direction to successfully complete projects. The ideal candidate will have five to ten years of post-graduate experience in an engineering environment. Duties and Responsibilities: Analysis and design of structural systems and components. Knowledge of building and non-building structures and systems. Develop plan details and specifications appropriate to construct or fabricate systems to transmit structural loads. Direct Engineers in Training and technicians in the preparations of proper documentation. Site observations and inspection of construction projects. Prepare reports and oral presentations for both internal and client use. Maintain budget and deadlines to client satisfaction. Work within multi-disciplinary terms in varying roles. Qualifications and Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Professional Engineering license in the Provence of British Columbia Five to ten years of post-graduate experience in an engineering environment. Preferred undergraduate experience in construction or engineering-related activities. Proficiency in relevant structural engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Robot, Bluebeam, Navisworks or Similar). Strong knowledge of local building codes and regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Desired Capabilities & Qualities: Professionally dedicated to delivering high-quality, well-organized documents to clients. Knowledge of basic structural engineering principles and practices applied to project design and construction. Manage and direct the work of EIT’s, engineering technicians, and other staff. Engineering calculations, estimates and designs. Read and interpret plans and specifications. Complete reports of on-site inspections and observations of construction projects. Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate and interact with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and clients. Relevant project experience in heavy industrial projects such as manufacturing, mining, material handling, power generation, and/or oil & gas. Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
