The Modification Team Lead (MTL) is accountable for completing the assigned projects and modifications as per modification process procedure and any other applicable client governance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Potential to fill a Supervisory role
  • Work planning, coordination of multi-discipline work groups. Identification and interfacing with all relevant stakeholders and process owners
  • Organizing various meetings (Kickoff, COMS, Challenge, Turnover, AFS / OPS Acceptance and Closeouts), walk downs to meet the desired objectives, milestones, projects progress, and compliance
  • Coordinates all elements of engineering work (maintains overall technical solution, development of procedures, definition and acquisition of required tools, materials, etc.) and other preparations which will be required to implement the contract within budget/schedule
  • Lead / participate in / Prepare work planning, commissioning strategy and logic, Installation and Construction Completion Declaration, AFS, Operation and other stakeholder's acceptance and closeout.
  • Review and ensure proper documentation of commissioning specifications, procedures, results, reports, and their acceptance by appropriate stakeholders
  • Participate / Assist in contracting strategy, procurement, and construction materials strategy such as the availability of required materials, lead times and spare parts
  • Coordinate with project team to complete non-engineering documents such as Operation, Maintenance and Training Documents (Project EC)
  • Monitor and ensure completion of pre-installation activities such as: Work coordination packages, Work Assessment, Comprehensive Work Packages etc
  • Provide onsite implementation support and ensure field changes are addressed and approved as per applicable procedures
  • Ensure that the design deliverables and products generated follow approved QA processes and OP&P, safety, and other pertinent client requirements
  • Review of Preliminary MOD package and all other related N forms, routing of documentation for signature of Design Authority & DOM's approval
  • Coordination of multi discipline work groups, monitoring, controlling project's performance, key constraints, and assumptions
  • Interface with the Project Manager to support day to day project activities
  • Interface and coordinate with project Design Team Lead, Field Engineering Manager and Construction Manager
  • Participate in project risk identification and implement recovery plans,
  • Plan, manage and direct the project execution. Manage and control project changes and priorities.
  • Incorporate operating experience and lessons learned
  • Demonstrate strong nuclear safety culture and maintain such a culture through the use of event free tools and technical conscience
  • Review relevant client database and change control program and ensure updates are correct and meet the requirements of client governance
  • Performs other related duties and tasks, as required

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors' Degree, Diploma, Designation or equivalent in related field

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-5 years of experience in a project engineering or similar role or equivalent within the nuclear power plant industry or related construction/industrial projects

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience on projects with low risk and complexity preferred
  • Understanding or project management, engineering and construction processes, procedures and relevant software
  • Working knowledge of CANDU design and plant system design
  • Working knowledge of CSA N286
  • Detailed knowledge of client Asset Suite Work Management, complete with active access rights
  • Working knowledge of Licensing Requirements and interfacing with TSSA/CNSC
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment
  • Intermediate Computer Literacy; Microsoft Office programs and JD Edward
  • A Security clearance will be provided by the client
  • Available for occasional travel
