Job Duties

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee abatement projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards, throughout the abatement process.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect workers and the surrounding environment.
  • Coordinate the safe removal, containment, and disposal of hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead, mold, and other contaminants, in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide direction, guidance and mentorship to operational staff and site staff regarding structural demolition.
  • Advise Operations Team of the most efficient/cost effective ways of performing site work.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to new and junior Project Managers/Project Coordinators.
  • Conduct thorough site inspections to assess the extent of hazardous materials present and develop appropriate abatement strategies.
  • Attend various start-up, progression, close-out, in-house, and client meetings as required.
  • In cooperation with the Project Manager plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones, and monitor progress against established schedules as assigned.
  • Work with the Safety department to develop and maintain safety and quality control plans and programs as required.
  • Facilitate communication and logistics between the field and office.
  • Understand the full scope of each project to educate and direct Project Manager and Foreman as required.
  • Respond to all site incidents as required and facilitate incident reporting.
  • Ensure all projects are completed with worker health and safety as the utmost priority; complete site safety inspections as required.
  • Ensure on-site compliance with Regional (provincial and territorial) and other regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with overall in-house and client Health and Safety Policy and Programs.
  • Deliver disciplinary action warnings to employees as required.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, including project documentation, reports, permits, and compliance documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with project stakeholders and provide progress updates as needed.
  • Address client concerns and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Position Requirements

Requirements :

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in abatement or hazardous materials management, preferably in the demolition or construction industry.
  • Licensure in asbestos abatement, lead abatement, or other relevant certifications preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of abatement procedures, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Asbestos Awareness Cert. 253S and Asbestos Awareness training is a must.
  • Bilingual Speaking - Spanish and English
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate complex problems and to plan and lead multi-disciplinary teams to execute demolition solutions.
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation, standards, and guidelines related to demolition, remediation and abatement.
  • Knowledge of the engineering design, tender, and construction management processes and related contractual conditions for a variety of demolition technologies.
  • Ability to delegate and achieve results through others.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
