The Project Manager - Facilities is responsible for overseeing and managing capital expenditure projects at the Vancouver shipyard, including buildings, equipment, and infrastructure. This role ensures the shipyard's facilities are safe, efficient, and conducive to productivity while maintaining uninterrupted shipbuilding operations. The successful candidate will manage a range of projects, from minor to major upgrades, demonstrating versatility and expertise in project management. This role requires flexibility and a broad skill set to support diverse facility needs without impacting shipbuilding activities.Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver. What you'll do  Act as the subject matter expert for all shipyard projects, with a thorough understanding of equipment and infrastructure needs essential for continuous shipbuilding operations. Lead and deliver projects of varying scales, ensuring meticulous planning, execution, and closure within budget and timeline expectations while minimizing disruptions to shipbuilding activities. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to align project objectives with organizational goals, ensuring efficient execution without halting shipbuilding processes. Develop and monitor key performance indicators to track project progress, quality, and adherence to defined specifications. Track costs and schedules, helping maintain project alignment with budget and timeline expectations, ensuring operational continuity. Provide strategic insights and recommendations for enhancing facility operations, focusing on non-disruptive improvements. Guide the team through complex problem-solving scenarios, ensuring solutions are aligned with the facility’s operational objectives and standards, and do not interfere with shipbuilding activities. What you'll bring  Bachelor’s degree in engineering with and PMP certification highly preferred. 4-6 years of combined technical and project management experience in an industrial or heavy construction environment. 5 years of managerial experience, with at least 2 years in a production environment, preferably in a unionized setting. Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Proficient in leading within a unionized work environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Familiarity with shipyard industry processes, equipment, and practices is an asset. Excellent conflict management and organizational skills. Experience in developing and managing an annual operating budget. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Outlook. Commitment to continuous improvement, results-oriented, with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to lead change with an inclusive and growth mindset. Exceptional organizational skills, capable of managing concurrent projects in a fast-paced setting. Superior communication skills, adept at engaging with both technical staff and executive leadership. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity.
