In addition, they will participate in the various testing activities across the Telesat Leo system with vendors and other partners and responsible for maintaining the lab.Main ResponsibilitiesIn this role, the incumbent will issue recommendations and have influence on the system verification and validation of the Telesat LEO systemDevelop system and sub system verification matrices against system requirementsCoordinate and participate in RF and system level testing activities including test planning, execution and reporting Serve as an RF expert and support other technical staff as required Plays an active role in component and subsystem design and test activities Configuring test equipment like Satellite Link Emulators, signal generator, spectrum analyzer etc. Ensure product under test meets technical, functional, performance and business requirements Keep the lab functional and update to date with known hardware and software configuration to execute various test scenarios as necessary Work with various Antenna Vendors to integrate User TerminalsWork with partners and other vendors in various test campaignsEducation & Experience RequiredB. S or M.S.in Electrical, Computer or System Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in satellite communications14+ years of work experience in Satellite RF communication systems with strong exposure on modulation and coding used in modern standards like DVB-S2(X) and DVB-RCS214+ years of work experience in RF testing in Ka bands Hands on experience using RF test equipment ( Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, satellite channel emulator,)Strong understanding of RF engineering Principles and Design Practices Integration of various Antenna types like FlatPanel/Dual parabolic etcDemonstrated understanding of air interfaces, modem technologies, modulation and coding and its impact on the satellite link performanceExperience with satellite link budget analyses with good understanding of effects of impairments on the link performanceExperience in test case and defect tracking tools( Jira, Jama ) Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering teams and partners / suppliersPreferred Qualifications Experience with various traffic generators like Ixia, SpirentHighly collaborative team player who can quickly earn the confidence of co-workers and teammatesExperience in MEF standardsProficient with MATLAB, python.
