We are currently partnered with our client in the higher education industry to locate their Manager, Operations & Project Delivery.

This is a fulltime permanent position located in East GTA with a hybrid working model (Tuesday & Thursday on site).

The Manager, Operations & Project Delivery in the Office of Research & Innovation will be overseeing operational and financial functions while providing project management support. The Manager, Operations & Project Delivery will be responsible for designing processes to enhance efficiency, stakeholder relations to ensure senior leadership is informed, lead data management, and mitigate risks. Additionally, they will be preparing briefing materials, liaising with stakeholders, and managing a team of 4-5 employees.

Responsibilities:

1. Management of Office Operations:

  • Lead and oversee administrative and financial operations.
  • Identify, analyze, streamline, and implement process improvements.
  • Act as primary contact for policy and governance matters.
  • Keep leadership informed of key activities.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

2. Project Management:

  • Provide project management support for various initiatives.
  • Conduct research, develop strategies, and monitor progress.
  • Advise the Director on relevant areas and plans.
  • Act as liaison with other offices and external parties.
  • Develop project charters and ensure achievement of strategic goals.
  • Adopt best practices for project planning and monitoring.

3. Research, Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Gather, synthesize, and interpret information.
  • Prepare reports and proposals.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure timely correspondence.
  • Stay updated on strategic developments and trends.
  • Provide advice on medium to long-term planning.

4. Financial Management:

  • Develop short and long-term forecasts.
  • Manage budget development and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and legislation.
  • Explore cost-saving initiatives and supply required documentation.

5. Human Resource Management:

  • Manage staff, define roles, and assign tasks.
  • Plan organizational structure and implement changes.
  • Provide direction, training, and resolve issues.
  • Oversee hiring, performance evaluation, and termination processes.
  • Mediate conflicts and handle grievances.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree required or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Project Management Certificate and graduate degree (Master’s or PhD) are both assets.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Project Management managing projects from cradle to grave
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team
