Barrantes & Associates Inc . is seeking a Behaviour Associate devoted to helping clients achieve their goals. A successful applicant must:

  • Maintain a high standard of care, compassion, and commitment.
  • Have the proven ability to work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary setting.
  • Have the proven ability to work with clients of all demographics; including, but not limited to clients with dual diagnoses, developmental disabilities, and complex behaviours.
  • Be familiar with behaviour skills training and teaching replacement behaviours.
  • Be familiar with task analysis, prompt fading, and identifying functions of behaviour.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain access to a vehicle for travel in the community.
  • Possess valid First Aid and CPR training.
  • Be able to obtain a valid, negative Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain rapport with clients as required.
  • Assist with and advocate for clients’ needs.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Create a supportive and collaborative environment in order to maximize clients’ potential.
  • Provide urgent response for clients in crisis.
  • Complete clinical documentation after each client visit.
  • Collaborate and communicate with team members as needed.

Other responsibilities :

  • Participate in ongoing professional development through company workshops and/or external learning opportunities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and company information.

Education :

  • A successful applicant is a graduate of a recognized degree or diploma program (e.g., SSW, DSW, CYC, CYW, OTA/PTA, BSW, PSYCH, PSW).

Experience :

  • 3+ years in the social service sector.
  • Additional training in behaviour management and modification considered an asset.
  • CPI/Safe Management Group training preferred.
  • Fluency in ASL and/or adaptive language(s) is considered a strong asset.

Salary : $27.00-$30.00 per hour
