• Current CSA recognized Medical Device Reprocessing Certificate
• Mandatory
• Olympus Medical Reprocessing Specialist Certificate
• Preferred
• Minimum one year OR support/ Endoscope reprocessing experience or equivalent within the last 2 years.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with proper instrument handling
• Excellent communications skills
• Time management and priority setting skills
• Knowledge of WHMIS biohazard waste handling
• Knowledge of medical terminology and principles of asepsis
• Satisfactory attendance

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Major Responsibilities of the Position)

• Ensures patient confidentiality is maintained
• Demonstrates competence in the preparation and maintenance of equipment, instruments and supplies for surgical cases in compliance with Canadian Operating Room Standards
• As a member of the team, assists in maintenance of optimal level of cleanliness in the O.R.
• Picking instruments and supplies for surgical cases
• Ordering non-stock inventory
• This position is required to provide services at both the Chatham and Wallceburg sites
