What Will You Do?

• Co-ordination, administration and execution of all benefits related activities. This includes health benefits, RRSP, TFSA, & RESP benefits.
• Process employee enrolments, changes and terminations.
• Upload employee premium deduction amounts and reconcile to monthly insurer billings. Submit monthly remittances where required.
• Work with discretion regarding sensitive and confidential information.
• Educate / inform employees on benefits and programs.
• Provide assistance with group insurance registration process to employees.
• Provide prompt and accurate answers to group benefit questions from employees.
• Provide direction to employees on claim processes
• Mediate between insurer and employees to resolve claim and coverage issues.
• Invoice employees for premiums during their absence with accurate documentation when required.
• Maintain accurate and complete employee benefit files and records and update as necessary.
• Knowledge of AS400 Infinium payroll system in relation to benefit premiums & RRSP, TFSA, RESP deductions.
• All other duties as required and assigned by manager.

Who Are We Looking For?

• Knowledge / experience in the transportation industry would be an asset. Previous work experience in benefits administration required.
• Excellent computer and analytical skills required, including Microsoft EXCEL.
• Ability to adapt to and learn new software (e.g. payroll system).
• Must possess a strong degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all areas of work.
• Must have the ability to multi-task, meet departmental deadlines on a consistent basis and have the ability to work with exceptions as well as standard procedures.
• Able to work efficiently as part of a team, as well as independently.
• Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization and outside insurer.
• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally at all times.
• Superior telephone manners and strong interpersonal skills.
