Job Details/ Specs: ·      Reporting Structure: Report directly to the partners overseeing day-to-day operations and liaise with the external accountant. ·      Full Cycle Bookkeeping: Handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and month-end/year-end closing. ·      Compliance and Reporting: Assist with audit preparation, GST filing, payroll compliance, and ensuring payments follow regulatory requirements. ·      HR and Payroll Support: Provide support with HR and payroll functions including employee setup, tracking hours, leaves, and vacation. ·      Project Support: Assist with project-related accounting tasks including invoicing, tracking project expenses, and ensuring accurate billing and project reporting. ·      Financial Protocols: Maintain proper protocols for accounting and financial record-keeping, ensuring accuracy and compliance. ·      Communication: Act as the main point of contact for finance inquiries and communication with vendors, customers, project managers, and government organizations. Must Haves: Extensive Experience: Bring at least 5 years of hands-on experience with bookkeeping and full-cycle accounting in Canada. Accounting Education: Possess accounting education within Canada. Start-Up Experience: Experience working in smaller/mid-size businesses or start-up environments, demonstrating the ability to wear multiple hats and pivot with business needs. Excel Proficiency: Strong Excel skills are essential for this role. Soft Skills: Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, high accuracy, and the ability to manage deadlines effectively. Collaboration, communication, and flexibility are key attributes. Asset: Experience with accounting software such as XERO, and payroll systems like Wage Point. Hands-on payroll processing and tracking experience will be beneficial. Previous experience working with Government & First Nations organizations. Compensation Details: Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits: Eligible for health and dental benefits. Vacation: Enjoy 3 weeks of vacation time. Education Support: Case-by-case basis for education support, with the possibility of tuition reimbursement for finance-related courses. Bonus: Discretionary bonus potential based on individual and company performance. RRSP: Eligible for up to 5% matching RRSP contributions.
