Senior Manager - Corporate Affairs

Reporting to the VP of Human Resources, North America the Senior Manager - Corporate Affairs will be a results-oriented communications leader who will oversee and deliver creative internal and external communication strategies including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. Responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive community engagement and marketing strategies that align with our core values, foster positive relationships with stakeholders, and drive results. This position will directly manage two site administrators/receptionists, one located in Toronto, Ontario and one in Ogden, Utah.

Responsibilities:

Corporate Communications (50%):

  • and execute comprehensive corporate communication strategies for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • company announcements, ensuring clear and consistent messaging.
  • employer branding initiatives to enhance the company’s reputation and attract top talent.
  • internal presentations - including quarterly Town Halls and Service Award ceremonies -for and leadership teams. Lead the planning and execution for key external presentations - such as customer visits or job fairs – by rallying a team of contributors and keeping it organized.
  • on crisis planning and management strategies to safeguard the company’s reputation.

2. Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) and DEI Initiatives (30%):

  • and steer ESG and DEI initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • new initiatives to promote environmental sustainability, social responsibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
  • and report on quarterly data for board-required ESG reporting
  • and manage community partnerships, including volunteerism programs and donations policies.
  • site wide social events e.g. summer BBQ, Halloween party, Christmas lunches, etc. with the support of HR team and social committee

3. Leadership Effectiveness (20%):

  • support to Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Extended Leadership Team (ELT) by maintaining accurate lists and supporting various initiatives.
  • in implementing Gallup action plans to drive Employee Engagement and identify then drive other group deliverables to enhance leadership effectiveness.
  • change management efforts to ensure smooth transitions and adoption of new strategies.

Requirements:

  • degree (or equivalent work experience) in Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field – required
  • 7-10+ years of previous related job experience ideally in Human Resources and Food manufacturing Minimum 3-5 years of experience in corporate communications, ESG/DEI initiatives, and/or leadership support roles - required
  • track record managing both communications and calendars cross multiple sites and time zones
  • communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization including investors, senior leadership and new business opportunities
  • in crisis management and change management is an asset
  • level of ability specific to Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook,) with advanced PowerPoint skills
  • time management and project management skills
