Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Manage and update the weekly production schedule to ensure all jobs are completed on time.
  • Supervise and coach shop staff to reduce rework and improve processes, particularly focusing on resprays flagged by the Quality Control team.
  • Hold weekly shop meetings and bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with key staff to ensure clear communication and alignment on goals.
  • Ensure labor efficiency targets are met, maintaining a shop labor target of 11%.
  • Develop, update, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed, and ensure staff are trained and compliant.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the shop across multiple bays, ensuring smooth workflows and timely completion of tasks.
  • Maintain and organize the shop facility, ensuring equipment is regularly maintained and all safety protocols are followed.
  • Lead the safety committee and ensure the shop remains compliant with safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in shop management, production, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on meeting deadlines and improving efficiency.
  • Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Familiarity with production scheduling and efficiency management tools (experience with Jobber and Slack is a plus).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and practices in a production environment.
  • Ability to develop and implement SOPs to streamline shop operations.

Additional Information

  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Competitive salary: $60,000 to $75,000 per year, depending on experience.
