Position Overview

The Restoration Technician is responsible for responding to emergency and property damage situations caused by water and fire. The position is accountable for addressing the property and the customer with skill, knowledge and professionalism. The position involves extensive work in cleaning and helping our customers restore their home/workplace.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Survey damage and document notes on assigned jobs
  • Extract water from flooded structures using commercial extraction equipment
  • Perform demolition including removing damaged or wet building materials such as carpet, pad, baseboard, cabinets, drywall, etc.
  • Set up and monitor drying equipment
  • Conduct moisture inspections
  • Mould remediation
  • Carpet cleaning
  • Perform cleaning process for contents and structural damage
  • Maintain inventory including loading, unloading and cleaning of all proprietary equipment
  • Practice good housekeeping to ensure a safe worksite
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge and Experience :

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 2+ years industry related experience is an asset
  • IICRC (WRT, FSRT) is an asset
  • Valid G or G2 driver’s license
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding and demonstration of customer service principles
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently within a team environment or independently
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
  • Ability to work in all types of conditions (hot, cold, wet and dusty)
  • Willing to work evening, on call and weekends as determined by the needs of the business
  • Periodic travel may be required
  • Basic computer experience and familiarity with technology
  • CSA approved safety footwear worn at all times

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs (Repetitive and Consistent)
  • Mobility in tight spaces
  • Working at heights (over 5 feet) periodically
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend and kneel for sustained periods
