Title: Coordinator, Peer Support WorkersPositionStatus: Full-time, 37.5hours per week.Reports to: Senior Manager - MHSUCompensation: $33.99 – $35.58Job SummaryThe Peer Support Worker Coordinator isresponsible for providing leadership to the Peer Support team that assistsPhoenix’s bed-based recovery programs. This role works closely with the MentalHealth and Substance Use team to coordinate service to treatment clients aswell as other programs as required. ProgramManagement·Ensuresthat Peer Support Workers effectively participate in meeting client needs andimplementing client-facing programs.·Ensuresprogram development, ongoing training and support is provided to the PeerSupport Worker team.·Developsstrategies and action plans to implement programs and supportive interventionsto improve client outcomes. ·Assistsmanager with program budget duties such as developing budget submissions,preparing, and presenting budget justifications and presentations, monitoringexpenditures, following up on anomalies, and taking action to resolvechallenges.·Supportsmanager in identifying trends, needs, and priority issues that impact thedepartment, organization framework and strategic plans.·Participatesin funder meetings and community stakeholder committees as directed by manager.HumanResources·Carries out administrative and financial taskssuch as petty cash, performing general timekeeping functions such as trackinghours worked, reviewing timesheets for accuracy and other duties related to theoperation of the Peer Support Program.·Attendspanel interviews, providing recommendations on the selection of new staff.·Determinestraining and orientation requirements·Assignsand adjusts workload and schedules, and coordinates staff when coverage isneeded ensuring service levels and staffing requirements are met Qualifications·Post-secondarydiploma in social work, community services, or an equivalent combination ofeducation and experience ·2 to 4years of practical experience working with vulnerable populations, substanceuse services, mental health, or corrections ·Satisfactorycompletion of a criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening isrequired·Satisfactorycompletion of Tuberculosis Screening form is required·Satisfactorycompletion of Employee Immunization Record form is required·Firstaid certification with CPR is required·Validdriver’s license is required Skills& Knowledge·Knowledgeof the needs of people affected by substance use, concurrent disorders,criminal justice involvement and homelessness·Highlevel of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency andresults-orientation·Abilityto function independently while managing multiple tasks, and an ability toadapt to change is an ongoing expectation of this position·Strongknowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.·Experienceusing database management systems (e.g., electronic health records, enterpriseresource planning, or customer relationship management)·Strongproblem solving, analytical, and creative skills with the ability to exercisesound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis·Demonstrated strong written, verbal andinterpersonal communication skills ·Abilityto lead and work in a trauma-informed practice·Demonstratedcommitment to the social sector with a passion for the organization’s missionis essential·Effectivelyworks with and communicates with their colleagues to ensure organizationalsuccess and excellent support for clients Competencies: Approach to Work×Demonstratesinitiative, flexibility, adaptability and resourcefulness×Activelyseeks and incorporates feedback to inform continuous self-improvement×Setsgoals, creates and implements action plans, monitors progress, and evaluatesresults ×Adeptlymanages competing tasks and uses time efficiently and effectively Job Knowledge & Quality of Work×High-degree of relevant and current job knowledgeand skill×Consistently produces accurate, thorough,high-quality work in a timely manner×Builds and promotes a culture of health and safetyin the workplace×Implements and enforces best practices in healthand safety within the workplace Judgement & Decision-Making×Modelsindependent thinking and creativity ×Demonstrateseffective problem-solving skills×Makes clear,consistent, transparent and timely decisions after contemplating variousavailable courses of action×Exercisessound judgment in the best interests of the organization Communication & InterpersonalSkills·Expressesthemselves clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing·Displayshigh emotional intelligence;
