Asbestos Field SurveyorBritish ColumbiaToday is the day to boost your career! Pinchin seeks an Asbestos Surveyor with approximately 1 year of asbestos survey experience. This position requires travel to various sites within British Columbia (some remote). Surveyors can reside in any part of British Columbia or Alberta. As an Asbestos Surveyor you will report directly to a Project Manager. You will play a pivotal role in our team by carefully assessing client facilities and building structures throughout BC for asbestos-containing materials. Your primary mission will be to identify these materials, and in some cases, sample the material and properly document material and condition using an electronic data entry platform.In this capacity, you will develop your professional experience in adequately completing asbestos field surveys in industrial environments. Working with a team and developing your communication skills will be central to your role and ensuring that projects objectives are met by inputting accurate and complete data based on the training and methodology Pinchin will provide.To support your professional growth in this dynamic field, Pinchin offers an extensive training program coupled with invaluable field experience. These resources are designed to foster and equip you with the proficiency needed to excel in this rewarding career. Additional opportunities to grow your career within the Pinchin group will be available for those motivated to excel.A Day in the life of an Asbestos Surveyor at Pinchin: Coordinate and conduct on-site assessments, surveys and sampling relating to asbestos materials in compliance with WorkSafeBC requirementsUtilize electronic tablets for digital collection of data and photographs of suspected asbestos materials present. Liaise with clients and other stakeholders to ensure health, safety and hygiene needs are addressed are metDevelop and maintain positive colleague and client relationshipsWhat you bring to the Pinchin team:Achieved or working toward a diploma, degree or certificate in fields related to Environmental, Health/Safety, Science or Construction Ability to travel on 1–3-week rotations within British Columbia (all travel, accommodation, training time, daily per diem, vehicle and equipment expenses are compensated by Pinchin)Ability to work overtime where needed up to 60-70 hours per week (job duties may be required during daytime or evening hours during weekdays, weekends or statutory holidays where needed - overtime compensation applies as per provincial regulations) Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, multi-task environmentAttention to detail following an established methodology for surveysGood verbal communication skillsAbility to execute detailed instructions and execute good judgementFamiliarity of relevant health and safety legislation and guidelinesWorkSafe BC Level S certification an assetFamiliarity with construction processes and/or architectural drawings considered an assetPrevious work in industrial environments an assetProficiency with tablet use and Microsoft Office 365 ProductsValid driver’s license What’s in it for you: This is an ideal position for any environmental, health or safety professional looking to grow their career with Pinchin and to develop a better understanding of asbestos and hazardous materials in industrial workplaces.
