I-5 INSTRUCTOR QUALIFICATIONS
All Early Childhood Assistant Program Instructors must meet MINIMUM approved Program requirements.
The following qualifications are the minimum qualifications, and MUST be met for ANY ECA Program
Instructor:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Early Childhood Education from a registered institution in
Canada with a minimum of five (5) years current working experience as an Early Childhood Educator in
Canada and current membership in the provincial association for Early Childhood Educators.
- The instructor must also meet the qualification standards as set by the Ministry of Colleges and
Universities.
- It is recommended that the instructor have some formal training and/or experience in teaching adults
in an education setting.
Note: Individuals who have received an ECE credential from a country outside of Canada MUST have their
credentials translated into English and must be assessed by a regulatory body such as WES (World Education
Service) as to the equivalency in Canada. Membership in the provincial association for Early Childhood
Educators is required and work experience as an Early Childhood Educator remains the same as above.

Salary : $20.00-$24.00 per hour
