Responsibilities :

  • Research best practices and participate in the creation of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Create and conduct audits of plants and facilities across the organization.
  • Create, administer, and deliver safety and related organizational training to employees.
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise for the Joint Health and Safety Committees across the organization
  • Ensure compliance assessments and pre-start health and safety reviews are completed for new/modified equipment across the organization
  • Review safety and quality compliance documentation and provide feedback at the organizational and site levels for continuous improvement
  • Effectively manage return to work programs and liaise with WSIB.
  • Administer qualifications sites for Health and Safety
  • Manage WCB/WSIB provincial programs (e.g. Clearance certificates, rebate/surcharge programs, rate groups, etc.)
  • Draft departmental correspondence (e.g. newsletter, safety flashes, toolbox talks)
  • Develop/maintain compliance matrix for Health and Safety
  • Assist in creating and maintaining H&S Key Performance Indicators across the organization
  • Develops, implements, and coordinates special programs including Machine guarding, Emergency Response, PPE, Contractor Safety Lock Out / Tag Out Hearing Conservation, Occupational Hygiene Air Testing
  • Direct onsite safety management experience and health and safety practices, manufacturing safety auditing and investigation experience.

Qualifications :

  • Three to five years of Health and Safety work experience in manufacturing
  • Completion of a Health and Safety diploma is required.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal abilities and can build long lasting relationships.
  • Digital savvy utilizing multiple electronic systems that assist driving the advancement of Health of Safety in the Company.
  • Able to travel with mínimal notice.
