General Maintenance Technician Seasonal

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and Resort Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for keeping all equipment, grounds, facilities and community buildings in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance of the property, completing work orders in a timely fashion by following Resort Standard Operating Procedures, continually working towards and supporting the improvement of engineering services to guests, other departments and fellow staff.

What you will be doing :

  • Maintaining grounds and landscaping
  • Repairs, maintenance and upkeep of all community buildings and equipment
  • Delivering exceptional customer service
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and attitude at all times
  • Maintenance of sewer, water and electrical systems and daily record keeping
  • Facilitating all aspects of pool maintenance, including minor repairs to various pool pumps and filters, cleaning and daily chemical, temperature testing and record keeping via logbooks
  • Responsible for completing work orders in a timely manner
  • Ensuring ongoing communication with the Maintenance Manager and Resort Manager
  • Ensuring all resort activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience :

  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Clean background/criminal check
  • Landscaping experience preferred
  • Water ticket or pool certificate preferred
  • Handyman experience preferred

Skills and Abilities :

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operational and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Physically fit: ability to lift, push and pull up to 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs infrequently, ability to work heights
  • Be aware of and operate within the applicable Occupational Health and Safety Legislation Standards, Environmental Health and Safety Policies, and company Health and Safety policies at all times
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
  • “Can Do” positive attitude
  • Ability to act on emergencies as directed by Maintenance Lead and/or Resort Manager
  • Maintain a courteous, respectful, and efficient professional manner at all times

Job Types : Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal Contract length: 7 months Part-time hours: 20-40 per week

Salary : $15.50-$16.50 per hour
