The Maintenance Plumber position plays an integral role in the Maintenance department performing plumbing work including repairs, maintenance, installations, and other maintenance tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified plumber looking to expand their experience and skillset in a hospital environment. The successful incumbent must be an energetic and personable individual that values teamwork and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

Education :

  • Grade 12 OSSD or equivalent
  • Journeyman Plumber with Interprovincial License
  • Backflow prevention certificate
  • Filter One All Fuel Qualification an asset

Knowledge and Skills :

  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Must be in excellent physical condition as moderate to heavy physical to heavy physical effort is required, which includes frequent climbing and handling equipment or tools of light to medium weigh (20-50lbs regularly, 100lbs periodically), and periodic snow clearing

Experience :

  • 5 years plumbing experience preferred
  • Experience with medical gases, steam and hot water heating systems, pneumatic electric and digital controls, ventilation systems, refrigeration, pumps, motors, reverse osmosis systems, variable frequency drives
  • Welding and general trade experience would be an asset

Other :

  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License Class “G”
  • Reliable attendance record
