Why we have this role : As the Customer Service Assistant Manage r, you will play an integral role in assisting the Customer Service Manager in the Winnipeg office. This role provides support to our existing and expanding sales team of swine, dairy, beef and poultry sales reps in Canada and the US. You will be required to efficiently and professionally respond to all incoming orders while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and excellent customer service. Key success factors to the role include strong product knowledge, excellent customer service, analysis of trends and order patterns, embracing a new ERP system and supporting and collaborating with sales representatives.

Working with us : This is an office-based role working out of our Winnipeg office at 103 Progress Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba. The standard work hours are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however please be advised that you may be required to work outside of these hours from time to time given the nature of the role.

What you’ll do :

  • Assist the Customer Service Manager with processing customer orders.
  • Accurately review invoices and follow through the posting process.
  • Ensure all record keeping is organized and up to date in order to meet CFIA and/or HACCP requirements.
  • Support and assist with the implementation of a new ERP operational system, participating in training and following SOPs.
  • Provide backup customer service support for the Winnipeg office when the Customer Service Representative is out of office.
  • Interact with prospects and customers to encourage sales, promote products and establish and maintain loyalty.
  • Establish and maintain strong product knowledge (swine, dairy, beef, poultry) through attendance at meetings, company information and training sessions.
  • Support the sales team by helping to organize and submit orders accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Utilize our systems to monitor and determine optimal order patterns and inventory.
  • Positively collaborate and work with staff at other office and warehouse locations.

Your background includes :

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in agriculture, business or a similar field
  • 3+ years of working experience in an inside sales or customer service position
  • Experience within the agriculture industry is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels within an organization
  • Technologically savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and cooperatively work with a variety of departments
