This passion and pride have won us the distinction of being named one of Canada’s Best Managed companies for 14 years running.Our Values say it best: We enhance our lives by helping others succeedWe care about our clients, each other, and our communitiesWe are responsible for the outcome of our actionsWe strive to do the right thing, even if it costs usJOB SUMMARY:The Maintenance Manage manages the operation of the Maintenance Department in accordance with company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards. JOB TASKS:Responsible for the health and safety of all employees, by ensuring safe work practices: through policies, procedures, communication and leading by example.Committed to meet or exceed customer quality expectations in all aspects of our operations by establishing, communicating, measuring and reviewing our quality objectives. Business Process Owner (BPO) for the department-specific SAP moduleDevelops analytics to improve department efficiencies and monitor internal workloadMonitors, plans, and directs the daily operation of the Maintenance DepartmentMonitors and directs Building Services activities; ensures response to Building Services Work Order requestsMonitors and directs activities and operation of Security System, HVAC System, Building and Grounds Maintenance, Furniture and Work Stations, Fire Systems, and Pest Control. Maintains departmental budget; assists with the annual Capital BudgetParticipates in the development and acquisition of new technology and equipmentLiaises with suppliers and customers as requiredConducts employee performance evaluationsEnsures the availability of building system drawings, shop drawings, and equipment specificationsCoordinates and monitors on-site contractors’ activities; ensures contractor compliance to government regulations and Emmerson Packaging proceduresRecommends improvements to maintenance operations systems to decrease equipment downtimes and streamline work order processes Participates as a HACCP and/or Food Defense team member, as requested by the applicable SQF Practitioner, to support product safety requirements as outlined in the Management SystemCOMPETENCIES:Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD software Must have strong, demonstrated leadership abilitiesMust have good communication skills, both verbal and writtenMust have a demonstrated strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy; detail-orientedMust have strong time-management and organizational skills; able to multi-task effectivelyMust have strong interpersonal skillsMust have proven strong conflict resolution skillsMust have strong mechanical aptitudeMust have working knowledge of PLC’s, drives, mechanical design, engineering principles, plumbing, carpentry, painting, machining, blueprints, welding, electrical theory and practical applicationsREQUIRMENTS:Trade certification or Bachelor of Engineering degreeFive (5) years’ maintenance management or supervisory experience in a production facilityThree (3) years’ experience working with industrial ventilation systemsPREFERRED:Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programsKnowledgeable in Occupational Health & Safety regulationsKnowledgeable in environmental issues and manufacturing-related applicationsKnowledgeable in Canada Building Code, National Fire Code, and relevant NFPA standardsWhat's in it for YOU?
