We're seeking a Director of Engineering with over 10 years of experience who is passionate about cutting-edge technologies and ready to lead a forward-thinking team that's continuously breaking new ground.

As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of software applications that interface with our medical devices. You'll ensure reliable data delivery via user-friendly dashboards, mobile applications, and integration with Looker for healthcare data reporting.

Director of Software Engineering Responsibilities:

- Oversee the design and development of robust engineering solutions that support our radar sensor technology, ensuring seamless data flow and enhancing user experience.

- Develop and scale distributed architectures to support business insights and healthcare data analysis.

- Lead the implementation of new features and infrastructure to align with business and technological needs.

- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand healthcare requirements, translating them into effective software solutions.

- Manage the creation of scalable web services, applications, and APIs that comply with healthcare regulatory standards.

- Ensure the maintenance and improvement of internal software tools, including custom Looker integrations.

- Establish high-level coding practices that safeguard the security and integrity of sensitive healthcare data.

- Solve complex technical challenges to maintain reliability and efficiency in data delivery.

- Ensure comprehensive documentation of engineering processes using appropriate tools like Confluence.

- Direct people management responsibilities for the engineering team, focusing on mentoring, professional development, and performance reviews.

- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and enhanced teamwork, actively boosting team dynamics and cohesiveness.

- Implement initiatives that promote knowledge sharing, skill enhancement, and motivation among team members, ensuring a high level of engagement and satisfaction.

Director of Software Engineering Requirements:

- A minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, with significant expertise in leading engineering teams and delivering high-quality software solutions.

- Strong knowledge of front-end languages such as HTML5, CSS, and advanced JavaScript, along with frameworks like React.

- Proficiency in server-side languages like Node.js, and deep familiarity with back-end languages and web frameworks.

- Extensive understanding of RESTful APIs, databases, and Linux environments.

- Experience with version control systems like Git, and collaboration across distributed engineering teams.

- Solid background in database systems, including SQL and NoSQL.

- Expertise in cloud computing services (GCP, AWS) and distributed architectures.

- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

- Strong experience with micro-services and serverless architectures.

- Outstanding leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to guide and mentor engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.

- Experience with IoT in healthcare, including and MQTT.

- QA engineering experience to ensure quality and minimize software bugs.

Salary:

$120,000 - $150,000 per year + bonus
