Family Law Clerk

Our client is a mid-sized premier full service law firm with three locations in Canada. They are currently seeking a Family Law Clerk on a permanent, full-time basis to join their thriving practice in North York.

Your new role

As a Family Law Clerk, you will be working on 1:2 workshare with the Lawyers. Your tasks will involve:

  • Assisting with the preparation, organization and/or assembly of litigation and court documents including pleadings, affidavits, notices of motion, financial statements, factums and books of authorities
  • Coordinating with process servers regarding service and filing of court materials
  • Coordinate with court offices regarding trial and motions bookings and related court material filings
  • Drafting and revising correspondence and other documents according to precedents and/or instructions including memos, letters, emails, reports, court forms and court documents
  • Other duties as assigned

What you'll need to succeed

To succeed in this position, the firm is seeking an experienced candidate with a minimum of 5 years of family law clerk experience, and must have successfully obtained a Diploma from a recognized Ontario Law Clerk program. You also must have a working understanding of family law rules and procedures in Ontario with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, PCLaw, and DivorceMate.

In addition to two remote working days, salary ranges from $70,000-75,000 (dependent on experience) along with 3 to 4 weeks of vacation.
