Reporting to the General Manager - Vancouver Island, the Dispatcher partners with the Dispatch group and internal clients to drive forward our purpose of providing Peace of Mind to our clients and our employees. The Role

As a Dispatcher, you will ensure clients are provided with the very best traffic control service to protect our employees, our client’s workers, and the public. This role will be based out of our Victoria Operations office.

What you will do :

  • Ensure traffic control capabilities to meet or exceed requirements for cost, quality, delivery, safety and responsiveness.
  • Accurately enter all requests for staffing at job sites into a computer-based program as required.
  • Check various Traffic Management plans and determine supply requirements for the job and report to the Fleet/Warehouse Manager.
  • Investigate and analyze concerns from clients, the public and employees. Reports any incidents as required to the proper channels depending on the situation at hand.
  • Track all requests for employee leave and time off to ensure optimum staff levels are available for job requirements.
  • Assist with special events and work closely with the Coordinator to ensure proper levels of staff and equipment are available for the clients.

Qualifications

  • Telephone skills and mannerisms.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight time constraints.
  • Knowledge of Google Workspace Applications; Docs and Sheets.
  • Dependability and available for flexible working hours.
  • Previous dispatching, call center, or customer service experience is considered an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of Traffic Management Plans and the Traffic Control Manual for Work on Roadways is considered an asset.
