JOB FUNCTION : In support of the Mission, Vision and Values of Sybridge Technologies, the Environment Health & Safety Leader will be an integral part of the Operations team and will provide support for the development, and implementation of our Environmental, Health and Safety initiatives at SyBridge Technologies. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Mobility and Industrial Solutions, the E nvironment Health & Safety Leader ensures safety is a priority every day.

As the safety champion, you will perform tasks and complete projects to support continuous improvement for the prevention and reduction of workplace injuries and illness to achieve a proactive safety environment. You will work with all Operations Leadership to ensure they are involved in this process and understand the requirements and support operations on the shop floor.

JOB DESCRIPTION

**General

Responsibilities :

  • Partner with Operations Leadership to integrate and operationalize environmental, health and safety programs and drive a culture of safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Support suitable training content and delivery mode, in line with country-specific requirements, conduct gap assessment to identify training needs, adjust curriculum to reflect site-specific needs and deliver training.
  • Understand, localize and integrate company and legally required work processes, programs and controls into site level operating procedures, tools and work instructions to standardize front-line processes and monitor, analyze and adjust for improved performance.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of OHSA and WHMIS and notify management of non-compliance to this legislation.
  • Establish and maintain systems that ensure that all facilities can demonstrate compliance with all applicable local, provincial and federal legislation and regulations.
  • Communicate information to Site leaders and employees regarding health and safety policies and procedures regarding lowering risks and accidents.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and participate in safety talks, monthly meetings, and audits.
  • Processing and finalizing reports to be completed in a timely matter.
  • Implement and maintain company health and safety policies, procedures and programs actively promoting safety culture.
  • Assist with the preparation and implementation of the site safety plan, and other safety-related plans (Fall Protection Plans, Emergency Response, and Hazard Assessments).
  • Oversee WSIB claims management and cost containment strategies and programs to ensure that they are effective, managing of all claims, including an early and safe return to work program.
  • Responsible for all federal environmental reporting, permitting and due diligence where applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma/certificate or bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Health & Safety or related experience is required.
