Location: Addis Ababa, EthiopiaStart Date: July 2024Placement Length: 6 months with the possibility of extensionLanguage Requirements: English Level 5-FluentEligibility: Open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada onlyThe Volunteer’s Role If you have a strong passion for assisting organizations in enhancing their capacities in Resource Mobilization, fundraising, strategic planning, and policy and program development, this opportunity is ideal for you.As a Resource Mobilization Advisor, you will collaborate with Hiwot Ethiopia and its team in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.Your role will be focused on strengthening the organization's capabilities to advocate its initiatives and acquire resources to sustain its mission.Addis Ababa, being the national capital, is Ethiopia's main economic, political, and administrative center. Notably, it is home to the third-largest number of diplomatic missions globally, following New York and Geneva. Additionally, the city holds international significance as the headquarters of the African Union (AU) and the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UN-ECA), and it hosts regional offices for various international organizations such as UNDP, UNESCO, and the European Economic Commission (EEC).Join us today and make a meaningful impact!As a volunteer, you will: Review and revise the organization's guidelines for resource mobilization and create a strategy and framework for its implementation. Establish a team for resource mobilization and knowledge management, and provide technical support to the team by offering training, mentoring, and coaching. Coordinate the planning and execution of resource mobilization events on both national and international scales. Develop project concept notes and proposals and respond promptly to the donor/s. Identify potential partners/donors, facilitate communication, and establish partnerships.
