Mine/Quarry DrillersOur client is seeking experienced Drillers to join their team. As a Driller, you will be responsible foroperating various drills efficiently and safely within an open pit mining or quarry environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with top hammer or down the hole drills, particularly models such asAtlas Copco, Epiroc, Sandvik, and others.Key Responsibilities:Operate different types of drills including top hammer and downhole drills, ensuring efficient and safe drilling operations.Utilize computerized systems for drilling operations, including process controllers, and demonstrate proficiency in adapting to proprietary software.Adhere to occupational health and safety standards, implementing necessary controls to mitigate hazards and ensure a safe work environment.Administer components of the client’s Health, Safety, and Environment Management System in accordance with site requirements.Monitor drilling conditions, adjust machine settings as necessary, and troubleshoot any operational issues.Verify drilling positions and depths to ensure safety and accuracy before proceeding with operations.Maintain and repair drilling equipment, power sources, motors, and mechanical systems as needed.Collaborate with team members, sharing knowledge and providing coaching to improve overall performance.Adhere to relevant work and safety procedures issued by the company and operator.Role Competencies:Excellent math, logic, and problem-solving skills.Fluency in English, both written and verbal.Strong organizational and time management abilities.Capacity to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and resolve complex problems.Teaching skills with a willingness to share knowledge and assist team members.Familiarity with control systems, electronics, and maintenance procedures.Proficiency in utilizing computer software and adapting to proprietary systems.Ability to regulate drilling parameters such as pressure, speed, and alignment according to material type and job requirements.Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience operating down the hole and/or hammer drills in an open pit mining or quarry environment.Experience with hydraulic and/or downhole drills, including models such as Atlas Copco, Epiroc, Sandvik, and others.Additional Requirements Non-Experienced Drillers Seeking TrainingPrevious experience with heavy equipment such as excavators and dozers preferred.Experience with machinery featuring tracks is advantageous due to the mobility requirements of the equipment.Commitment to safety protocols and continuous improvement.What You Can Expect:Competitive Wages (+ 4% vacation pay/hr)14/7 ShiftsPrompt weekly pay through direct deposit.Start Date: ASAPCompany is open to considering permanent employment based on performance and opportunity.If you meet these qualifications and are eager to join a dynamic team focused on safety and excellence, we encourage you to apply for the Driller position.REFER TALENT, GET REWARDED.
