Pivotal Staffing is hiring for our client Metro Supply Chain Inc in Elora, Ontario.

We are looking for candidates with experience and certification with a least one piece of the following equipment; Raymond Reach, Dock Stocker, and/or Double Walkie

Available to travel from July to August for training. Travel allowance for food and mileage.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor the Forklift Operator is responsible for a variety of warehouse tasks using an RF and various material handling equipment. Follows best practice processes to ensure we are efficient, accurate, and provide quality and on-time orders for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • The material handler plays an important role in meeting customer agreements which include productivity, accuracy, and service level.
  • Responsible for the handling of product for various operational processes, including receiving, order picking, shipping, and inventory control.
  • This role requires the use of material handling equipment and RF technology.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures to ensure quality and consistency is achieved.
  • Completes material handling tasks as presented on the RF, scanning where possible to avoid manual keying.
  • Participates in inventory activities including physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
  • Moves empty pallets, depositing them at the designated pallet holding location.
  • Keeps the warehouse clean, orderly, and free from obstructions, with all debris placed in proper containers or designated areas.
  • Operates equipment and completes tasks in a manner consistent with company Health & Safety policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience

  • Two (2) years warehouse experience, with one year’s operating material handling equipment (MHE) with a proven track record for safety.
  • Previous experience with RF based Warehouse Management System (WMS) or voice recognition system would be an asset.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of warehouse processes including receiving, order picking, shipping and inventory control
  • Be reliable and dependable, able to be at work every day, on time.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and task-oriented environment.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team and follow safe work practices.
  • Some high school, completion of secondary school diploma preferred.

Certifications

  • One or a combination of the following equipment experience and certification - Raymond Reach, Dock Stocker, and/or Double Walkie.

Working Conditions

  • Able to commit to a flexible work schedule, including overtime and weekends when required.
  • Works 100% of their time on the warehouse floor, walking, standing, and bending.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50lbs repeatedly and safely.
  • Recognize that work hours and location may change.
