Learn more about Leggett & Platt Automotive: The Controller role is responsible for the cost-efficient operation, supervision, and administration of the finance and accounting department. This position implements and administers the policies, procedures, systems and controls required to direct the financial function in accordance with Corporate, Sarbanes-Oxley, local statutory, and US GAAP requirements. The Controller role supervises the preparation of all financial statements and reporting, and manages a diverse team of financial professionals to meet and exceed Company objectives. The Controller role is responsible for identifying and supporting staff development goals, and driving continuous improvement efficiency into ongoing financial systems and processes. This position serves as a key liasion with Corporate Accounting and various head office functions, addressing requests and requirements in a timely and accurate manner. The Controller will provide ongoing support to the FP&A; and Costing sub-functions, and will provide key inputs and reviews as part of the financial planning cycle and related standard processes. This role will interact heavily with functional leadership across the organization to provide financial guidance and support to optimize decision making and the overall profitability of the Company. Duties: - Leads the full scope of accounting processes for a branch or collection of branches. - Leading role in the financial close and reconciliation process, accountable for accuracy and compliance. - Ensure that local statutory reporting and tax authority requirements are met. - Ensures that policy and procedures adhere to a system of internal controls, and serves as the lead for internal and external audit requirements. - Serves as a primary point of contact with Corporate Accounting, addressing questions and reporting needs. - Leads, develops, and coaches local accounting team. - Key role in the financial planning cycle - providing various inputs and performing reviews in the areas of revenue, material, headcount, plant expenses, and working capital (following standard financial planning process flows). Qualifications: - MBA preferred - CPA preferred - Bachelor's degree in Finance required - 10+ years of finance and accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred), with at least 5 years of managerial experience - Experience in financial close, internal controls, internal and external audit management, ad hoc analysis, management reporting, accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS), taxation, treasury, working capital, cash flow management, costing and financial planning - Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) - Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work - Attention to detail and problem solving skills - Strong communication skills and leadership abilities, employee development experience
