· Position Summary
Responsible for testing, commissioning and final integration of the CBTC system being deployed.
Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility
· Prepares for execution of system tests on site:
o Progresses daily test plans with test team and ensures the consistency between all involved
o Identifies and verifies the means required for testing are present. When required, ensures the specification complements of test means.
o Ensures tests are properly executed and managed within the test shift
· Ensures completeness of tests as well as compilations of evidence against requirements, and ensures traceability of evidences.
· Supports site testing during the integration and commissioning periods
· Analyses the technical facts, monitors the technical facts lifecycle within the appropriate commissions
· Undertakes problem solving and troubleshooting as required by commissioning activities
· Produces test certificates documenting results formally
· Supervises by ensuring all the right considerations for field work with respect to work authorizations are in
place (such as work permit, resource arrangements, etc.)
· Ensures the correct HSE measures are in place before and during the test execution
· Coordinates GTS, customer, supplier, subcontractor teams and their interventions on the system, allocates test slots, monitors schedule
· Supervises acceptance, integration and commissioning staff
· Co-ordinates with the customer's Central Control operators for the preplanning and execution of field commissioning tests
· Co-ordinates and contributes to the activities of technical specialists of Testing and Commissioning who are on site to perform integration testing, trouble shooting and commissioning testing
· Supports training of testing, operations and maintenance staff with respect to the related control system
· Reviews all results of tests and test certificates for completeness, accuracy and integrity prior submission to GTS for final approval and submission to customer
· Reports progress and current status to internal and external stakeholders
· Provides feedback to the customer
· Completes progress reports related to Test & Commissioning to T&C Manager
· Maintain site ‘punch lists’ to satisfy project requirements
· Maintains database of failures encountered during commissioning testing
Minimum Requirements: Skills, Experience, Education, Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Certifications, Language
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in CBTC Systems Test & Commissioning environment.
• Working knowledge of CBTC products with respect to testing and commissioning.
• Working knowledge of safety standards, railway principles and practices required at project site.
• Experience in testing of CBTC train control systems (onboard and wayside).
• PC literate and use of word processing, excel, PDF, and scheduling software packages.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
• Fluency in languages other than English (such as Arabic, French) is an asset
