AREA COORDINATOR

TEACHING CHILDREN THE VALUE OF SCHOOL BUS SAFETY

TEMPORARY FULL-TIME

LOCATION: Supervising teams in the Pembroke, Ottawa and surrounding areas

START DATE: ASAP

END DATE: Approximately end of January, 2025

Intertrain Incorporated is the premier provider of all in-school, School Bus Safety programs for Elementary Schools across Ontario. Since 2003 we have been providing our programs to school boards in both Southern and Northern Ontario. Our head office is in Hamilton, but our Educators and Area Coordinators live and work in their own local areas. We work hard to develop top-notch programs and provide schools with a hassle-free, fun experience.

We are seeking a very motivated, outgoing, punctual and responsible person to represent our company in a professional manner and to support Educators that provide School Bus Safety presentations for children JK to grade 8 in the Elementary schools across Pembroke, Ottawa and surrounding areas.

The Area Coordinator is responsible for training and coordination of Educator staff (approximately 6 - 8 people)

Coordinator duties :

  • Training of Educators
  • Confirm/audit Educator’s to ensure programs are performed correctly
  • Coordinate sick calls/days off calls - replace sick/day off Educator as needed. Can be last minute same day coverage. Flexibility is important.
  • Provide vacancy coverage. Can be up to 1-3 weeks.
  • Provide daily/weekly reports to Lead Area Coordinator and Operations Manager.
  • Liaise with Educators as their first point of contact.
  • Attend some presentation sessions and submit evaluations.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to provide constructive criticism and enforce the company’s Policies and Procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Troubleshoot and operate audio/video equipment problems.
  • And other duties assigned.

Qualifications :

  • Supervisory experience.
  • Training experience.
  • Ability to perform children’s Bus Safety shows in front of a live audience as needed.
  • MUST be able to read and speak English fluently (First language level)
  • Experience working with children and large groups.
  • Highly motivated.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Own reliable vehicle - large enough to fit our equipment.
  • Provide a clean criminal check (CPIC - Vulnerable Sector).
  • Good physical health, ability to lift up to 50 lbs and transport equipment up stairs.

Monday to Friday, Salary: $181.50 per day

Job Types : Full-time, Seasonal Contract length: 4 months
