About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic - Vehicle Maintenance Specialist to join our team at First Student Canada. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our school buses.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Inspection and Repair : Conduct thorough inspections of school buses to identify and repair any issues, ensuring vehicles are safe and roadworthy.
Diagnostic and Repair Skills : Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with school buses, including brakes, engines, suspensions, and transmissions.
Preventative Maintenance : Lead preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections to prevent breakdowns and ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
Work Order Management : Ensure work orders are completed accurately and efficiently, maintaining records of all maintenance work completed, including parts and supplies used.
Team Leadership : Lead road calls and emergency services as necessary, and provide guidance and support to junior mechanics.

Requirements

310T Mechanic License : Must have a valid 310T Mechanic license.
Driver's License : Valid driver's license required.
Tool Set : Must have an appropriate mechanic's tool set.
Problem-Solving Skills : Advanced problem-solving ability and analytical skills.
Computer Skills : Advanced computer skills, including ability to use diagnostic software.
Communication Skills : Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
