Qualifications:

  • Accreditation as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP).
  • Valid drivers license
  • H2S Alive
  • WHMIS 2015
  • Standard First Aid

Experience :

  • 10 or more years of Oil and Gas field safety experience within the facility operations would be preferred, and experience developing site specific health and safety programs and guidance documents would be an asset.

Skills :

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of Provincial Health & Safety legislation and industry best practices
  • Ability to interpret safety analytical data
  • Ability to take initiative, to lead and motivate people

Key Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to day health and safety advising to asset leaders, workers, and contractors
  • Collaborate with the operations team and contractors to ensure that appropriate health and safety programs, plans and safe work procedures have been developed and implemented
  • Drive a positive and pro-active safety culture by providing coaching and mentoring to operations and contractors.
  • Develop and / or review NGL specific health and safety procedures, hazard assessments, and other specific health and safety programs and guidance documents.
  • Develop and complete general and focused inspections / audits which aim to assess and improve health and safety performance, based on safety trends, scopes of work and risk to operations
  • Lead and support incident investigation and corrective action development and management
  • Lead and participate in audit and assurance activities
  • Support health and safety communications including the development of bulletins, training activities, and participate / lead safety meetings
  • Support emergency response activities as needed
  • Ensure corrective actions based on inspections, observations, audits, incident investigations are developed and implemented in a timely manner and are effective in controlling the identified hazards

Hours: Monday to Friday 8 hrs / day. Occasional extended hours and weekend support may be required.
