Job Details

Position Title: Program Manager, Community Music School

Status: PT Admin

Contract Duration: 1 year

Hours: 24 hours per week; hybrid - required to work in-person on Saturdays

Hourly Rate: (Min) $38.66 – (Max) $57.98

Faculty/Department: Faculty of Media, Creative Arts, and Design

Campus/Location: Lakeshore Campus

What you will do:

Reporting to the Associate Dean, Continuous Professional Learning, the Program Manager, Community Music School (CMS) oversees all operations of the CMS, ensuring a high-quality music education for children/youth ranging from three (3) to eighteen (18). In addition to general operations and financial management, the incumbent will be responsible for developing curriculum, implementing marketing initiatives, and building relationships within the community.

The incumbent is required to have a solid administrative background related to child and youth programs, as well as a background in music education and/or community engagement. Key responsibilities include visioning new directions for the expansion of Community Music School programming and operationalizing growth strategies in collaboration with the Associate Dean. This position will manage part-time Work Study students, part-time Music Coaches and work closely with the Associate Dean.

What you bring to the role:

Education:

· The successful candidate will have a 4-year degree in education, music, arts administration, or a related field.

Experience:

· The successful candidate will have 3 to 5 years’ experience in education administration, community programming or a related field.

· Experience in the music industry, with a musical instrument, or with musical performance preferred.

Skills:

· Organizational skills

· Communication and interpersonal skills

· Knowledge of music education and program development

· Financial management
