De Ice Program Coordinator

The De-ice Co-Ordinator manages the overall De-Icing requirements for Wasaya Airways. The De-ice Co-Ordinator will oversee all De-Ice training programs to ensure they meet regulatory and safety standards and ensure all relevant personnel are trained accordingly. All tasks are to be performed to regulated standards and in accordance with all company safety policies, practices, and procedures. The De-ice Co-Ordinator must also ensure that station operations are efficient and consistent. The De-Ice Co-Ordinator will work with the Company Operations Manager, suppliers, and third-party suppliers to ensure compliance. The position will be based out of Sioux Lookout or Thunder Bay but will require regular travel to our other bases. Travel will be provided by Wasaya and will occasionally include overnight stays.

Duties and Responsibilities : 1.Ensure the safety and security of flight operations through oversite and management of Wasaya’s Ground Icing Program.

  1. Perform all tasks related to inventory, ordering and quality control for the company’s Ground Icing Program storage sites ensuring a constant supply of de-ice and anti-ice fluids (Type 1 and 4). This includes ensuring fluid quality control.

  2. Managing the company De-Icing equipment. Responsible for scheduling/coordinating upkeep, servicing and repairs of Company ground de-ice equipment including coordination with Wasaya GSE (Ground Support Equipment) staff.

  3. Report to the Operations Manager and liaise with Base Managers and Northern Agents Manager to ensure that the Company Ground Icing Program complies with the regulations, Wasaya’s Company Policies and Procedures.

  4. Assist in the maintenance and development of Wasaya’s company policies and procedures.

  5. Prompt reporting within the Emergency Response and/or Safety Management System of all Company accidents, injuries, and incidents.

  6. Ensure daily servicing/quality checks and applicable standards, techniques and procedures are being adhered to.

  7. Ensure all applicable staff that have duties within the Ground Icing Program are trained in accordance with Company Policy and regulations.

  8. Audit all company De-ice sites to ensure program effectiveness.

  9. Review industry standards and provide options and concepts to Senior Management to meet future company de-ice needs including input on future capital requirements.

  10. Liaise with Base Managers and SOCC Manager to ensure a safe On Time Performance.

  11. Develop, deliver, and process quotations and sales to de-icing customers.

  12. Liaise with and assist the Finance department with the invoicing of de-ice services.

  13. Develop, Build and Maintain long-term relationships with new and existing customers.

  14. Perform and uphold Wasaya’s Customer Care Commitments to both internal and external customers

  15. Any other duties as assigned

  • Position is based in Thunder Bay or Sioux Lookout with travel to all company stations
