As a HSE Coordinator, you will provide expert advice independently or with mínimal direction/guidance, providing management support and assisting operations staff to achieve the corporate goal of zero incidents. You will provide direct leadership and guidance on health, safety and environmental (HS&E) matters on worksites, and act as a resource to managers & supervisors to assist them in fulfilling their responsibilities.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to :

  • Reporting to the Director of HR this HSE position will have a strong Environment focus.
  • Work with the Management Team and employees to promote a positive safety culture
  • Be the primary point of contact for WCB matters as they relate to the Worker, Employer and Worker’s Compensation Board
  • Coordinate with third party consultants to collaboratively manage claims
  • Complete monthly reports relating to injury frequency, severity, tracking, costs, and trend analysis; present monthly report to management
  • Be involved in the Return-to-Work coordination along with Accommodation Plans for all work-related and non-work-related disability claims
  • Ensure maintenance and improvement of the CMN Return-to-Work Program
  • Monitor and review workplace accommodations and return to work programs
  • Ensure that all governmental legislation is being followed at all time
  • Maintain legislative compliance
  • Assist in conducting inspections of the workplace ensuring safety standards are met and being enforced consistently
  • Support planning projects aimed at integrating health and safety activities into the company’s production efforts
  • Ensure timely investigation and thorough reporting of health and safety incidents and hazard assessments
  • Run and participate in the quarterly monthly Joint Health & Safety Committee
  • Participate in monthly Workplace Inspections and provide corresponding report to management
  • Review job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, risk assessments, safe work procedures; identify and provide risk assessment recommendations
  • Coordinate meeting between employee & operations following a workplace injury/incident
  • Research, plan, organize and conduct training programs/seminars
  • Advise on improvements in tracking and reporting procedures

Qualifications :

  • OHS Certificate (preferred).
  • Certified NCSO or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current OHS and WCB legislation
  • Current First Aid Level C, and WHMIS training.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrate Health, Safety, and Environmental leadership.
  • Be a proactive and flexible team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience with SiteDocs
  • Willing to travel to CMN locations 70% of the time.
