SENIOR TRANSFORMATION PROJECT/PROGRAM MANAGER

We are currently seeking a Senior Transformation/IT Project Manager for a highly visible long term assignment with one of our clients. This position is responsible for leading the enterprise transformation work related to people, process, and technology at the cutting edge of payments modernization initiatives. This will include tasks to decommission legacy systems (e.g. mainframe, legacy payments applications) and related business processes in alignment with the overall modernization strategy and plans. The main accountability is to develop and execute the integrated transformation plan in collaboration with cross-functional teams in strategy, technology, operations, finance, legal, and people & culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The main responsibilities of the transformation focus are:

  • Develop and document inventory of technologies, systems/infrastructure and applications.
  • Develop and document an inventory of business functions, processes and models.
  • Identify agreements and contractual implications for decommissioning.
  • Build an integrated plan highlighting key dependencies and risks across various functions.
  • Provide status reporting to the management team.
  • Manage cross-functional teams to develop and execute the plan.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum bachelor's degree in business, information technology, computer science, or other relevant field of study from an accredited college/university is required.
  • 10+ years of IT Service Management (ITSM) experience.
  • Previous experience decommissioning legacy systems and applications.
  • Experience working in financial services or FinTech’s (payments services preferred)
  • Program or project management and change management experience.
  • Communicates tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing, and maintains effective work relationships.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and interdepartmental communications skills.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain user trust and confidence.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively adapt to and apply rapidly changing technology to business needs.
  • SME level knowledge of enterprise payments digital transformation, to develop and deploy a transformation vision and plan and align others to that vision: Knowledge of legacy and emerging technology, including digital omnichannel, core banking systems, hybrid cloud platforms (Azure, IBM, AWS, GCP etc) and related operating, productivity and financial models for Digital and legacy platforms and digital transformation.
  • Experience with a transformation portfolio - Regulatory, Business, and Operations.
  • Working closely with delivery and technical platform teams to define and design high-quality solutions supporting business capabilities.
  • Optimizing, refactoring, and/or re-engineering business processes.
